This vibrant, multi-layered piece originates from the original Big Butterfly piece. Through digital manipulation and using a large format printer, an entirely new piece is created which is painstakingly hand colored and mounted in layers. Deep violets and rich purples dominate, pulsing with life against the dark background, while bursts of red, gold, and electric blue add drama and contrast. Though digitally manipulated, the piece retains the intimacy and complexity of the hand-drawn original. The dimensional layering adds depth that can’t be fully captured in a photo—this is a piece meant to be experienced in person, where its structure, color, and transformation become fully alive
